Her brother waited for her to return, but when she did not came back after an hour he informed their mother Rukshmani.
Rukshmani and her relatives searched the area for the girl and then went to Jetpur police station. The policeman on duty told them to bring a written application from a lawyer. As it was too late to find a lawyer, Rukshmani kept searching for her daughter on her own. The next day she again went in search for a lawyer, but it being a Sunday she could not find one. She went back to police station, requesting them to help her search for her daughter, but the cops were not willing to listen.
Meanwhile, her husband Navghan Koli and some farm labourers on Dhoraji road found the girl in the fields. She was in a state of shock. They took the girl to the government hospital where the doctor told them that the girl had been raped. The police was informed and Rukshmani also got the news.
